Trying to create an EU-wide patent has been a decades-long effort, and the location of the court is the last piece of the puzzle; the candidate cities are London, Paris and Munich.
A deal may be at hand. According to a draft of the summit’s communique obtained by the Financial Times, Herman Van Rompuy, who as president of the European Council chairs the summits, has proposed Paris as the host for the court, with “specialised clusters” handling administrative matters granted to London and Munich.”
