Alexander McQueen Loses Yet Another Trademark Battle in Australia

The Fashion Law bericht: "Alexander McQueen has lost a recent trademark battle for its name in Australia, where it maintains a long list of stockists. In a December 2016 ruling from the Australian Registrar of Trademarks, the British fashion brand was denied a federal trademark registration for the plain text trademark, “MCQUEEN.”
The decision comes after Autumnpaper Ltd. (“Autumnpaper”) – the entity that holds Alexander McQueen's intellectual property rights – filed a trademark application in June 2013 for the mark in an array of classes of goods and services, including those that cover perfumes, make-up, sunglasses, handbags, watches, clothing, footwear, and retail services connected to sales thereof, among others."
