The amended rules added important nuances to the existing legislation, including recalibrated registration standards, new exclusive rights, broader limitations of protection and additional norms in the area of transfers and licenses. Offering an in-depth analysis of the amended EU legislation and the development of EU trade mark law in general, Annette Kur's and Martin Senftleben's book European Trade Mark Law – A Commentary (Oxford University Press 2017) sets a new standard in the explanation and evaluation of EU trade mark law and practice.
