Brief inzake economische groei die minister-president Rutte samen met zijn Finse en Zweedse collega’s, minister-president Katainen en minister-president Reinfeldt, heeft gestuurd naar president Barroso van de Europese Commissie en president Van Rompuy van de Europese Raad.
“Dear President of the European Council, dear President of the European Commission (…) The European Union is facing enormous challenges.(…) There is significant untapped potential here. To name just a few areas:
- Modernisation of the EU copyright regime for the digital age is urgently needed to unleash the economic benefits for creators and consumers and to fight piracy. We therefore need to align national legal frameworks for collective rights management, enabling pan-European licensing.
- Swift decision-making on the unitary patent and the creation of a unified patent court is essential.
