Many of these smaller, specialised outfits are run by partners who cut their teeth at bigger firms, meaning that they can match the expertise of the more established names while providing a flexible and potentially more client-centric approach.
Some market entrants, notably Klos Morel Vos & Schaap, have enjoyed rapid success; others, such as Hofhuis Alkema Groen, are newer, but already show great promise. However, a handful of commercial law firms still place great emphasis on intellectual property. They have taken advantage of departures from the bigger players and the dissolution of Howrey by bolstering their IP teams with new partners and clients - Hoyng Monegier being perhaps the most prominent example.
