Forbes informs: "A music video from the Canadian rock band Sum 41 features the beloved Internet meme Nyan Cat without copyright permission from its owner.
The video for “Fake My Own Death” is the first from the band since 2012 and features a hodgepodge of Internet imagery, including Kim Kardashian’s rear, Crying Jordan and Miley Cyrus from “Wrecking Ball. Yet the meme used the most in the 3:14-minute long video is the Nyan Cat, a pixel illustration of a feline with a Pop-Tart body and a rainbow tail.

The creator of the Nyan Cat is Chris Torres who learned about the video after it was uploaded to YouTube on June 28.

Torres created the meme in 2011 and has been working ever since to protect his copyright and prevent companies from making money off his creation without his permission."
