From July 3 to 7, 2023, the Institute for Information Law (IViR) will organize its annual intensive post-graduate course on International Copyright Law and Policy.
The face of copyright law and policy changes continuously, mostly due to the constant evolution of the digital networked environment and the legislative initiatives at the international and European level. As a result, copyright professionals must keep abreast of the applicable rules and policy initiatives, including those deriving from the international treaties and the various European directives in the area.
The 2023 edition of the IViR Summer course on International Copyright Law and Policy will tackle such issues as the copyright regulation of AI-generative systems, intermediary liability and online copyright enforcement, authors rights and remuneration, collective rights management in the digital age, open data and information policy. The seminars are taught in dynamic and practice-oriented format, typically with two experts per seminar, and featuring a final policy exercise where participants apply the knowledge acquired during the course.
The lectures are given by internationally renowned scholars and practitioners who all share years of academic and practical experience in the field of international copyright law. These include Bernt Hugenholtz, Pam Samuelson, Martin Senftleben, Severine Dusollier, Daniel Gervais, Remy Chavannes, Sean Flynn, Paul Keller and João Pedro Quintais.
The course is aimed at lawyers, academics and other professionals involved in questions of copyright law. At the close of the course, each participant will receive a Certificate indicating completion of the programme. Dutch lawyers can also obtain NOvA credits.
