Union Round Table: IP enforcement at the EU border; Gear up for the tools and rules of tomorrow. Amsterdam, vrijdag 22 november 2013.

Proceedings based on Applications for Action have proven to be an effective instrument against the release of IPR infringing goods into the Internal Market. However they do not always provide a proper answer to the latest trend of IPR infringement showing a shift towards small consignments of goods coming into the EU via postal and courier services.

The new IT tool, commonly referred to as the "Enforcement Database", that will be made available by the EU Observatory, and the new EU Custom Regulation that shall apply as from 01 January 2014, will further expand the possibilities to enforce IPR.

During this Round Table session we will explore, together with keynote speakers from the EU Observatory, the national Customs Service and Legal Attorney practice, the possibilities this new tool and regulation will provide to improve IPR enforcement at the EU border.
